Movies I REALLY want to see: Saving Mr. Banks

This week the trailer for the Disney film Saving Mr. Banks came out.  I had heard that Tom Hanks  would be playing Walt Disney in a movie, I just didn't know that it would be this one.  Saving Mr. Banks tells the story of how Mary Poppins made the journey from book to the big screen.  I am super psyched for this movie.  I adore Tom Hanks.  Emma Thompson playing P.L. Travers, the author of the Mary Poppins books, has me all kinds of giddy.  Emma is one of my favorite actresses.  I even have a bunny named Beatrice, after her character in Much Ado about Nothing.  This movie also intrigues me as we get to see the conflict between an author not wanting to see her beloved book made into a movie.  As a librarian I always worry when a favorite book of mine is made into a movie.  Because the books are 9 times out of 10 always better than the movie (and this comes from an avid movie goer).

The trailer does make me think that this will be a tear jerker.  While I normally boycott films that make me cry (a believe me, the older I get, the easier I cry), I will pack my box of Kleenex and go.

So I shall be saving up my pennies because come Christmas time, I will be seeing Saving Mr. Banks

Welcome to my blog

Greetings!

I'm T and this is my movie blog.  Why did I start a movie blog? Well I have always had a passion for movies.  Then when I became a librarian, I eventually got to be the AV selector for the local public library I work at.  Getting to buy movies everyday is a movie nut's dream come true.

In April 2012 I found out I had breast cancer.  It was an eventful year to say the least.  I am now disease free.  Hooray!  During my cancer journey, I had a blog, Rantings of a Mad Librarian, that updated my family and friends on how I was doing.  I really enjoyed doing that, so I thought, why not blog about movies.  So here we are.

This is purely for my own enjoyment.  I hope if you stumble across this for some reason, you can get some enjoyment out of it too.
